1. Who we are
Bella™ (“we”, “us”) provides a Chrome browser extension and this website to help freelance linguists watch ProZ.com jobs. Contact: support@thebella.app. Bella is an independent third-party product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ProZ.com.
2. What Bella is (and is not)
Bella is a personal companion tool: it watches a ProZ jobs feed or (for Pro users) related ProZ API features you configure, shows matching jobs, and may send optional desktop alerts. It is not a jobs board, marketplace, or employment agency, and it does not sell listings or replace ProZ.com.
3. Licence to use the extension
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Bella on Chrome browsers you control, for your own freelance work, in line with these terms, Chrome Web Store rules, and Google Chrome’s terms of service. You must not:
- copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the extension except as allowed by law;
- rent, sell, or sublicense access to Bella or a Pro subscription;
- use Bella to break ProZ.com’s terms, scrape unlawfully, or harm other users or systems;
- misrepresent Bella as an official ProZ.com product.
4. Free and Pro
Free features (such as feed watching and limited Quick searches) are provided as described on this site and in the extension, and may change. Pro is an optional paid subscription unlocking features such as faster checks, Smart Filters, unlimited Quick searches, and API-related capabilities when configured. Feature details may change; material changes will be described in the extension or on this site.
5. Charges, renewals, and cancellation
Pro payments are processed by ExtensionPay and Stripe (not by us directly). Prices are shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled through the payment provider’s manage-subscription flow (also linked from Bella Settings). You are responsible for applicable taxes. Except where consumer law requires otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable. Chargebacks or unpaid amounts may result in Pro access being suspended.
By purchasing a Pro subscription you consent to the immediate provision of Pro features and acknowledge that you lose any statutory 14-day cooling-off right once digital access begins, except where non-waivable consumer rights apply in your jurisdiction.
6. Your responsibilities
You must keep your ProZ login, feed link, and any API credentials secure and use them only as ProZ allows. You are responsible for your Chrome setup, notification settings, and for checking jobs on ProZ before quoting or accepting work. Bella depends on ProZ.com availability and on information ProZ provides; we do not control ProZ.
7. Website use
You may browse this website for information about Bella. Do not misuse the site (for example by introducing malware, scraping aggressively, or attempting unauthorised access). Content on the site is for general information and may be updated without notice.
8. Privacy
How Bella stores and contacts data is described in our Privacy Policy. Settings and job caches stay in Chrome local storage on your device; we do not operate a Bella backend that stores your ProZ job history.
9. Intellectual property
We (and our licensors) own the Bella name, branding, website, and extension software. ProZ.com names and marks belong to their owners. No rights are granted except the licence in section 3.
10. Disclaimer and liability
Bella is provided “as is”. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, that every matching job will be found or notified in time, or that ProZ or payment providers will always be available. Bella relies on third-party services, APIs, and website structures (including ProZ.com); we are not responsible for service interruptions, missing notifications, or extension failures resulting from changes, downtime, or blocking measures implemented by third parties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost work, lost profits, missed job opportunities, or indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under English law. Where we are liable and a cap is allowed, our total liability for any claim is limited to the total Pro subscription fees you paid (via ExtensionPay) in the 12-month period in which the default giving rise to the claim occurred.
11. Changes and termination
We may update these terms or the service. Continued use after changes are posted means you accept them. You may stop using Bella and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the product (with reasonable notice where practicable).
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
